Here's the LCD from PartExpress.com.
It takes NTSC input via standard RCA jack. This works equally well on a TV or VCR with TV-out, or a video card that has a TV-out plug. It is a standard RCA jack, so if you have only an S-Video jack, you'll need an adapter. Every TV-out capable video card I've ever seen has the ability to provide a standard RCA-jack interface so this shouldn't be a problem. Requires external power source. The power connector only has a red wire and a black wire. You need to do the wiring to a power supply yourself. Info from the Spec Sheet: Active Area: 115.2mm (W) x 84.2mm (H) Back Light: Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp Video System: Power Source Requirements: Operation Range: DC 10V ~ 18V Overall, the entire unit is about 1 inch thick. There are 3 Pots to adjust Tint, Color, and Brightness. NOTE: I have a low-quality webcam so the pics are a little grainy. Due to the LCD backlight, the color images washed out so I adjusted the colors so you can see the resolution! Here are a few examples of the image... Clarity test with color, brightness set to low: There are two switches to select normal/reverse, and normal/inverted image. Reverse, inverted image tests: Attempts to display color tones: Fits the MasterPilot! Note the black square of the MasterPilot frame, in fact it is much smaller and you have plenty of room to space around it.
If you want to order the module, go to parts express and order part number 205-016. You can browse their other LCD modules under Mobile Video > LCD Modules. If you need to find a cheap video card with TV-out, here are a few choices: Trident 3D Image 985 AGP |
